Siebel Systems and Resonate Expand Technology Partnership
Siebel Licenses Resonate Central Dispatch in Newly Launched Siebel 7.0

SUNNYVALE, Calif., March 5, 2002 — Resonate Inc. (NASDAQ: RSNT), the provider of award-winning service level management solutions for business-critical applications, today announced it has expanded its existing technology relationship with Siebel Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEBL), the world's leading provider of eBusiness applications software.

Under the new agreement, Siebel will license Resonate Central Dispatch?, a leading LAN-based traffic management product, for use with the Siebel 7 product. Siebel 7 provides the most comprehensive suite of packaged applications for customer relationship management (CRM) and employee relationship management (ERM), with the lowest total cost of ownership (TCO). Resonate and Siebel Systems will also participate in joint sales and marketing activities. This announcement is an expansion of an earlier OEM agreement in which Siebel licensed Resonate Central Dispatch software for use with Siebel 99, Siebel's market-leading Enterprise Relationship Management (ERM) application suite.

Resonate Central Dispatch is a distributed software traffic management product that ensures an optimum customer online experience by delivering high availability and performance for e-business applications. Resonate Central Dispatch software enables multiple Internet servers to act as a single, scalable, reliable, and easily managed Internet server system. As a software solution, Resonate Central Dispatch performance scales as e-business applications grow, without requiring changes in existing hardware investments.
