Resonate Extends Support for Linux
Expanding Partnership with IBM to Deliver New Service Level Management and Traffic Management Support for Linux

IBM developerWorks LIVE!, SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., May 7, 2002 — Resonate Inc. (NASDAQ: RSNT) today announced extended support for Linux with new service level management and traffic management support for Red Hat Linux 7.2. As Resonate builds on its strategic relationship with IBM, Resonate is supporting IBM's commitment to the open source movement and Linux as a key platform for e-business.

With this announcement, Resonate is delivering Resonate Command Module™ for Red Hat Linux. The Resonate Command Module for Red Hat Linux works in conjunction with Resonate Commander Solutions™ software to deliver a powerful solution that manages the operating system in context with information gathered on end-user performance and other infrastructure components. Resonate is able to monitor statistics from the Red Hat Linux operating system including CPU utilization and memory. If problems are detected, Resonate Commander Solutions can start and stop the operating system or redirect users to unaffected servers, ensuring the optimal end-user experience at all times.

Resonate is also announcing Red Hat Linux support for its traffic management product, Resonate Central Dispatch™ 4.0. Resonate Central Dispatch provides high availability and optimal performance for online services, ensuring a positive end-user experience. Managing all requests at the Web and application tier, Resonate Central Dispatch allows multiple Linux servers to act as a single, scalable, reliable, and easily managed Internet server system. Distributed software agents collect fine-grained detail such as CPU load and memory utilization from Linux servers to determine server health. Based on the data collected from the agents, Resonate Central Dispatch can take real-time, intelligent action, routing traffic requests to ensure maximum availability and performance.
